The Designer Paper and the coordinating punch are in the NEW Main Catalog that you can order from on 31 May! The stamp set is Secret Garden and it has coordinating framelits to cut out the flowers and leaves–how cool is that.*
A beautiful Mother’s Day or birthday card! Using the Artisan Embellishment kit from the Spring Catalog and combining it with some Vellum cardstock and Elements of Style, you can create this soft and elegant card.
Yes, here is my morning cup! And this can be a card for any occasion with the stamp set called Morning Cup! It also has a ‘tea bag’ image, teapot and some cute little sayings in the set. See it online.
The card body is Midnight Muse (love it!) and the Designer Paper is Comfort Cafe. The mats are Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse and Crumb Cake with the ribbon in Soft Suede Taffeta. I used 3 sizes of circle punches for the emblem in So Saffron, Midnight Muse and a flower image stamped on Vanilla. The cups are stamped with Stazon and colored with markers and the coffeepot is stamped on a scrap of cardstock with Stazon ink, colored and cut out–it’s attached with dimensionals. How do you like those photo corners? Stampin’ Up! used to have a punch like that but these were made with the 1″ Square Punch and then cut diagonally and notched with scissors. With 3 brads inserted, I then used dimensionals to pop up the photo corners.
This layout is really nice for any image along with some Designer Paper and coordinating cardstock. See what you can make using this layout!
Here are the embellishments that will be retiring. The embellishments will sell out quickly and won’t be available when they are gone so be sure and check the availability (an X in the right column of the list means it won’t be available any more).
Here is another version of the First Edition of the Paper Pumpkin monthly card kit. By adding this image from Need for Speed and some trim, you have a completely different card.
I just received my Paper Pumpkin Edition #2 in the mail and am busily making cards from the kit. I’ll show you the original idea and my own ideas soon. Have you received your kit yet?
If you want to receive My Paper Pumpkin monthly card kit and have it delivered to your door, go to http://mypaperpumpkin.com and sign up. You need to fill out all the information and choose a demonstrator, that’s me, Bernie Forlenzo. Then you will receive Edition #3 in mid May.
Just in case you are wondering what all the hub-bub is about, the new Stampin’ Up! yearly catalog will be coming out soon and will be available to order from on May 31, and…that means many of the current stamp sets, paper and accessories will be discontinued.
So, when the retiring list comes out next week, you can see if you need to order that one last stamp set or accessory before it is gone for good!
I’m really liking this set since we just don’t have enough male-oriented sets. This card is done with a lot of masking and sponging to create the background. The boat is embossed in black embossing powder, colored with markers, topped with Crystal Effects to make it shiny, cut out and popped up with dimensionals. The bottom dark red area is Cobbler Seam Binding taped onto the designer paper from International Bazaar.
Base: Cut a Certainly Celery cardstock strip 1-1/2″ x 11″ and scallop one long edge with the Scallop Edge Punch—score at 2-1/2″, 5″, 7-1/2″ and 10″. Sponge with a darker green along the edges if desired. Fold into a square and use Sticky Strip to adhere. Cut a smaller Certainly Celery strip 1″ x 3-1/2″ and score 1/2″ on each short end. Fold the ends, add Sticky Strip and tape this piece exactly in the middle of the card base square. Stamp the words on the base front.
Cut a tree pattern similar to the one pictured and cut out a tree trunk from Chocolate Chip cardstock and emboss it with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. Tape this tree trunk securely to the middle section of the card base. With the lower tree branch to the left, tape one of the Wasabi scalloped circles behind it and another one behind the upper branch. Attach the third one with a dimensional midway between and a little above these. Use a dimensional to attach the smaller Celery scalloped circle in front of the tree branch on the right side.*
Assemble and decorate an owl using the Owl Builder Punch and attach the owl on the tree’s lover branch on the left.
*Note: As you are adding the scalloped circles, measure your card to make sure you tape the circles within a 5″ square so it will fit in a square envelope.

Oh, I am disappointed that this happened but here is the latest message from Stampin’ Up!

Exciting news from Stampin’ Up! Some of our favorite In-Colors are coming back as well as some of our little-used colors are retiring. See the chart below for the details. The colors will be available in the new Main Catalog coming out 31 May.
If you see any of your favorites retiring, order them now. Be sure and get the cardstock and the matching ink pad plus refill because after May 31st they will not be available from Stampin’ Up! And if they are very popular, they will only be around until they sell out.
Stampin’ Up is excited to let you know that they are offering FREE shipping on EVERYTHING April 6-8! That’s right. There are no minimums or limits and all order types qualify (customer, workshop, online). Did I mention that the free shipping is on everything?
